HF Litz Wires for the Aerospace Industry
Reliability Beyond the Clouds
In aerospace, weight reduction and operational reliability are crucial. Every gram saved and every watt of reduced power loss increases the efficiency of the overall system. HF litz wires from PACK LitzWire enable light, compact components that work absolutely reliably even under extreme conditions.
Whether in high-speed electric motors or flat transformers for on-board power systems – our litz wires withstand vibrations and temperature changes and form the basis for safe, certifiable aerospace applications.
We supply high-quality HF litz wires to manufacturers for:
- Actuation and positioning systems
- Power transmission components
90 Years of Experience in HF Litz Wire Technology
In aerospace, extreme standards apply where absolute reliability is a basic requirement.
- Maximum Operational Reliability
Our components are designed for maintenance-free operation under extreme environmental conditions such as vibrations, pressure differentials, and temperature cycles. - Controlled Manufacturing Processes
Through 100% monitoring of every single wire, we guarantee zero-defect quality, which is essential for safety-critical aerospace applications. - Precise Litz Wire Geometries
Specializing in weight reduction and volume minimization, we develop geometries that offer the highest electrical efficiency in the smallest installation space. - Long-Term Reproducibility
Every production step is documented to ensure the qualification of your systems even for future series.
Continuous Research for Reliable and Efficient Systems
Aerospace requirements for electrical conductors are constantly evolving: higher power densities, increasing efficiency requirements, new materials, and ever stricter safety and qualification standards. PACK LitzWire therefore works continuously on the further development of its HF litz wires – practical, application-oriented, and scientifically sound.
The focus is on:
- Reduction of electrical losses
- Optimization of litz wire geometries
- Adaptation of insulation concepts to extreme environmental conditions such as temperature changes, vibrations, and low-pressure environments
Insights from development and research projects flow directly into manufacturing and enable litz wire solutions that combine efficiency, reliability, and sustainability.
Innovation & Development
In aerospace applications, available installation space is often very limited, while high power densities are required. For flat HF transformers, PACK LitzWire developed RUPALIT® Planar, a profiled HF litz wire that combines a high copper fill factor with uniform current distribution. This allows for the realization of compact transformers that reduce electrical losses, remain thermally stable, and function reliably even under vibrations and extreme environmental conditions.
Electric motors in aerospace must fulfill high speeds, mechanical loads, and tight installation space requirements simultaneously. PACK LitzWire supported the redesign of a high-performance motor through the use of RUPALIT® Profile HF litz wires. The profiled litz wire structure enables an increased copper fill factor, reduces AC losses, and supports stable thermal performance – a crucial foundation for efficient, durable, and safety-critical drive systems.
Designing the optimal high-frequency litz wire for passive components in power electronics often poses complex challenges for electrical engineers. A groundbreaking research project by Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg in collaboration with our company demonstrates how significant reductions in winding losses can be achieved through systematic analysis and optimization.
